The word 'kodu' actually means home in Estonian, but it can have different meanings to different people. For some in means a one-room flat - a place to sleep. For others it can be the house or the country in which they live. The Earth can also be 'kodu'.

For me, 'kodu' is the house my parents started building when I was four years old. it was hard work. Finally the house was finished. Hut has one actually created a 'kodu' when the building is complited? This is a question I still ponder over.

In the last few years, the meaning of the word 'kodu' has changed for many Estonians. I focus on the meaning of the word that is not related to a flat or a house. For me, the word has a broader meaning.

During my performance, I will build a house around the public; I will build them a 'kodu'. But I do not know what feelings people will be left with once their house is finished. perhaps they will feel that they are in one of the European Unions pre-fabricated box houses. Perhaps people will not like being in it and perhaps they will. Or perhaps they will want to get out - but it is their 'kodu'. The only way out is to destroy it.
